Per pupil expenditures How much are we spending per pupil per year in public schools? Multiply by 13 years (kinder- garten, 5 years elmentary, 3 years middle, and 4 years high school). NM spends $9,525 per child per year or $123,825 for 13 years (granting the child is not held back).
